It’s a week ago I saw this movie, and I had to go see it again (which I did). And I still had to wait a few days before I could write about it… and why?

Inception is one of the best action movies with an actual story I’ve seen in a long long time.

In fact! I think the last one I saw was The Matrix (the first one). And I can understand why some people actually compares the two movies.

They both use the concept of “What is real?” (and it’s not a coincidence since the first draft for the movie was written by Nolan around the time he did Memento, which is around the same time The Matrix was out).

The action sequences are phenomenal! Especially the fighting sequences in the hotel looks awesome.

What is the story then all about?

In the near future it’s possible to enter a shared dream state, originally invented by the military for training in killing.

We follow Leonardo DiCaprios character Cobb, who is an extractor. He can extract information from the victim by entering their personal “vault” through shared dreaming (by diving into their subconscious).

His line of work isn’t legal, and we do discover pretty quickly that he can’t return to his kids back home in the states. But a wealthy businessman offers him a job, that could be his one last job, so he can return home.

The only problem though. He doesn’t want information from a victim, but instead he wants Inception – to plant an idea in a person.

So we then follow Cobb assembling his team, and then planning and performing the perfect (reversed?) heist!

It’s really hard not to say too much about this movie, without spoiling it – but if you like the original Matrix, then you’d love this one – if you like good action, with a story you can choose to think about (or not), then you’d love this movie – if you love Will Ferrell, don’t bother with this movie

Is it worthy of a cinema trip? Hell yeah!
